Boats leave from Necoclí or from Turbo, on the Gulf of Urabá. It is open sea, so bring a dry bag for your luggage.
Small planes fly into the Capurganá airstrip. It is the fastest option and the most expensive, with a strict baggage limit.
Hilltop Capurganá is in the Plan Parejo neighborhood, on the seafront. It is about 12 minutes from town by mototaxi or carguero, roughly 5,000 COP per person, or a 20-minute walk.
By boat, or on foot along the hill trail between the two villages. Staying at either Hilltop lets you use the other at no extra cost.
La Miel, the first village in Panama, is about a 30-minute walk over the hill from Sapzurro. Bring your passport.
Since late 2023 Capurganá and Sapzurro have been in a serious power crisis. The utility's three power plants broke down. Power may reach each neighborhood for around 8 hours a day, and there can be whole days with none. The hostel has no generator. We tell you before you book, not after you arrive.
Capurganá: check-in 13:00–18:00, check-out by 11:00. Sapzurro: check-in 13:00–23:00, check-out 10:30–11:00.
