Hilltop Capurganá at a glance
Hilltop Capurganá is a seafront hostel in Capurganá, Chocó, in Colombia's Darién region near the Panama border. There is no road: you arrive by boat from Necoclí or Turbo, or by small plane. It is in the Plan Parejo neighborhood, about 12 minutes by mototaxi or a 20-minute walk from the center. It has a deck over the sea, a pool, free snorkel gear, fishing gear, air conditioning and Wi‑Fi. Dorm beds start at 35,000 COP and private rooms at 100,000 COP. Check-in is from 13:00 to 18:00 and check-out by 11:00. Electricity in the village is limited, sometimes about 8 hours a day. Guests can use Hilltop Sapzurro at no extra cost. Is there electricity in Capurganá?
Since late 2023 Capurganá and Sapzurro have had an electricity crisis: the utility's three power plants broke down. Each neighborhood may get about 8 hours of power a day, and there are full days without supply. The hostel has no generator of its own. Please keep this in mind before booking.
